Homemade Blueberry Wine
Blueberry wine offers deep color and rich, fruity flavor. Fresh or frozen blueberries work well. Makes approximately 1 gallon.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs fresh blueberries
- 2 lbs sugar
- 1 tsp pectic enzyme
- 1 tsp yeast nutrient
- 1 packet wine yeast
- Water to make 1 gallon
Method
Crush blueberries in primary fermenter. Add warm water and sugar. Stir to dissolve. Add pectic enzyme and wait 12 hours. Add yeast nutrient and pitch yeast. Ferment 7-10 days with daily stirring. Strain and transfer to secondary. Age 3-6 months for best flavor development.
